I am looking at a b1700 from a local dealer. This rig has a loader and a backhoe. I am unsure of the year but it has only about 150 hrs on it and is pretty darn close to new condition. Its 4wd with turf tires. what would be a fair price for a b1700 tractor be. Also does anyone have any specifications or literiture on this model.

I used to have a B-1700. Nice little tractor but somewhat underpowered in my opinion. Back then Kubota only had one hydraulic pump on the B series tractors. This pump ran the power steering and all other hydraulics, you could really feel the strain when doing loader work. I would be concerned about putting a backhoe on this tractor unless the hoe had it's own hydraulic pump, from what I can remember the pump capacity on the 1700 is only around 6 or 7 GPM. I had a 54" deck on mine and it labored a bit in the tall grass. I think in 1998 I paid about $16,000 for the tractor, loader and deck. ....

I can't speak from experience, but my neighbor has that model. I beleive his is 7+ years old. He has a bucket and a rear rotary mower. He has done a lot of landscaping with it and clears a driveway more than 200 feet. He has moved a lot of topsoil for me and it seemed to be a great machine. He does not push it to hard though. He wants it to last forever. ....
